Artist Statement

This picture shows a younger sibling literally and metaphorically standing in the shoes of her parents. It features a large black pair of work boots on her feet, as she stands in front of a fireplace with several family oriented decorations to symbolize her family. The boots represent the shoes she is expected to fill, with the decor a reminder of whose legacy and expectations they are.
