Questions
). My strongest work is my Word of the Week photo for the prompt “Smelly”. I feel that this is my strongest work for two reasons. Firstly, the work has a well developed theme of bringing back memories from times spent with family, and this happening through smelling the same spices used to cook the food at these events. Second, the editing of the picture pulls out the more vivid colors and highlights the spices and containers as opposed to the background.
). My most meaningful work is my Word of the Week for the prompt “Back to school”. This picture shows shards of broken glass laying around on the ground, something i intended to represent the breaking and shattering of dreams when school starts. I find this meaningful because it is relatable personally, and tries to convey a struggle/emotion that many people experience as opposed to being simply visually appealing.
). My weakest work is my word of the week for the prompt “Indecisive”, this is just a picture of my cat twix sniffing a left twix and a right twix bar. I could make this better by taking a more meaningful and thought out shot, and finding an idea to convey that doesn't take the prompt so literally. In addition, i could do the word of the week before the day i was having surgery so i would be less stressed and in a rush.
). I think i could take my Summer diptych featuring palm trees and a winding path and expand it into a series of works. The photo shows a winding path going to the ocean, an empty expanse. I think i could take more pictures dealing with the common theme of “road to nowhere” or “Into the unknown in a similar style showing paths leading seemingly to nowhere, but that actually give people opportunities. (ex: into a cave, but inside the cave people could find wildlife or gold or other valuable things”
