Artist Statement

This photo explores the idea of abandonment within the context of growing up. The photo features a storage rack in a closet, with old stuffed animals and a dated orioles cap throw around haphazardly, while newer, more mature items like dress shoes, sweatshirts, and a pristine ravens hat are organized neatly on the shelf.

This is intended to explore how people discard things that are important to them as time goes on, specifically noting how items like the orioles hat and animals, clearly battered and worn, are not given anywhere near the level of display or preference as the other items.
